Blown in the WINDies

s
"In a way it's made things simple for us; we need to win the next two to win the series." - Dravid was commenting after the defeat in the third ODI .Lara and boys didn't give Dravid's Team another chance in the next two games. The win was so convincing and was a reply to the comment of Dravid. Dravid earlier stated that all the matches were close and it was not a big deal to win the last games by playing to their 'actual' potential. And the actual potential was visible all over the games...A clueless Captain and a bunch of undisciplined boys running behind the ball and over the rope.

It was a close series, and as expected the 'Lara Magic' came at the right time and Windies marched to an easy victory on the shoulders of the Great Lara. Bravo and Gayle sealed Team Dravid's coffin with the last nail . Its so convincing and even Rahul repeated (unknowingly) uttered the word 'inexperience several times in the presentation ceremony. Gone are the days where Dravid and the boys were wining without knowing how to win. Gone are the days where Luck favored Mr. Dravid tremendously. Gone are the days, when Chappels experimentations succeeded at the right time. (As Times of India wrote leave experiments to scientists). From these defeats its quite evident that, team is lacking so many things and not working as a well set unit. Another alarming statistics is this defeat marked the 8th time in the last 12 games that India has failed while batting first. (if we forget about run chasing or run defending: the ODI record of Team Dravid in last 10 matches is 3 wins, 6 losses, 1 no result)– Before India was winning not because of any leadership qualities of Chappel or Dravid. It was a high time when Dhony -Yuvraj - Pathan clicked together. Now things are not going good for them and team started loosing. And the summary is...

1. Apart from one single solid knock from Yuvraj, Dravid and Shewags and Kaifs half centuries no body else contributed in this series.
2. Dravid again proved that he is not successful in handling pressure situations esp when defending the target.
3. Dravid is now the very first person to understand that opening an innings is not always easy and positions 1 and 2 are not the easier positions to score more runs.
4. Opening issues still continue
5. Team members are not comfortable playing in different positions and with different members on the other end. Run outs are examples of that.
6. Big communication gap between players - odd combinations.
7. Fielding is getting worst.
8. Politics in Team selection is again started
9. Dravid has no clue in Team selection (Remember Sachin was also suffered same problem when he had the captaincy)

West Indies may not be pushovers, but only Bangladesh and Zimbabwe have lost a series here since the 2003 World Cup.
Australia won four in a row and lost three dead-rubbers,
England drew,
Sri Lanka triumphed 2-1,
Pakistan whitewashed them 3-0, and South Africa went one step further - handing out a 5-0 walloping.
India, on the other hand lost like BD and Zim

Big Mouth Idiot... Chappell 'Chappell's sly remark motivated us'

West Indian captain Brian Lara said the sly remark by Indian coach Greg Chappell that his side had forgotten how to win acted as a catalyst for them in clinching the one-day series in Port of Spain on Friday. "It was a very sly remark (by Chappell). After the first match, the guys took notice of the statement and we turned the tables," said Lara, basking in a rare series win for his side in front of his home crowd. Chappell, after India secured win in the first game in Jamaica last week, had suggested that the West Indies had forgotten how to win.

Now look at some statistics and understand the real politics in the so called 'Team India'
Let's look at the statistics of an opener bowler
He is averaging 35 and economy of near 6 per over.
Here is his bowling till date:
He has failed 10 times in 18 chances given to him and 2 times average bowling
How can he be in team?
Zaheer and Nehra have better economy rate between 4.5 and 5 why not them?
5.4 overs 0 maiden 39 runs 2 wkts 6.88 econ. rate - FAILED
8 overs 2 maidens 49 runs 1 wkt 6.12 econ. rate - FAILED
10 overs 0 maidens 57 runs 0 wkts 5.70 econ rate - FAILED
8 overs 0 maidens 50 runs 1 wkt 6.25 econ rate - FAILED
10 overs 0 maidens 75 runs 1 wkt 7.50 econ rate - FAILED
10 overs 0 maidens 52 runs 0 wkts 5.20 econ. rate - FAILED
10 overs 0 maidens 74 runs 0 wkts 7.40 econ rate - FAILED
8 overs 1 maiden 30 runs 1 wkt 3.75 econ. rate - FINALLY SOME GOOD BOWLING
10 overs 1 maiden 58 runs 4 wkts 5.80 econ rate - SUCCESS BUT EXPENSIVE
5 overs 0 maidens 39 runs 0 wkts 7.80 econ rate - FAILED
6.5 overs 0 maidens 40 runs 3 wkts 5.85 econ rate - GOT WKTS/EXPENSIVE

10 overs 1 maiden 55 runs 6 wkts 5.50 econ rate - SUCCESS
9.3 overs 2 maidens 34 runs 1 wkt 3.58 econ rate - SOME GOOD BOWLING
7.2 overs 0 maidens 30 runs 1 wkt 4.09 econ rate - SOME GOOD BOWLING
9.5 overs 0 maidens 57 runs 1 wkt 5.80 econ rate - FAILED
9 overs 1 maiden 39 runs 0 wkts 4.33 econ rate - AVERAGE BOWLING
10 overs 0 maiden 62 runs 1 wkt - FAILED

or is it because he is sycophant no. 1 in this team Dravid/Chappell/More

Sourav built "Team India". These guys are making it team of sycophants. People who speak in public in favour of Dada are reprimanded (eg Bhajji, Sehwag, Yuvraj)

In this series Dravid scored 149 @ an avg of 29.8 (this 149 inculdes a century)
Sourav was scoring an average of 34 per innings when he was unceremoniously sacked from the team..His avg of 34 at that time was higher than Sehwag, Kaif, and even Yuvraj

Now look at the average of other batsmen.

Ramesh Powar
(Apart from one single 54 he didn't score more than 20 in any games)
Mat Runs HS BatAv 100 50 W BB BowlAv 5w Ct St
overall 14 107 54 21.40 0 1 16 3/34 34.00 0 0 0

Suresh Raina

Sehwag

filtered 20 344 66* 24.57 0 3 - - - - 10 0 (in Last 10 matches)

From these statistics its clear and evident that Team selection is not according to the performance basis and its solely based on the politics of the selector Kiran More and coach Chappel. Unfortunately Dravid hasn't got the courage to speak up in the Team selection and he is given the team as Sachin was getting when he was captain. It's high time to recall Sourav Ganguly back in the team and save Team India as he saved India by re-building the team after the greatest conspiracy - Match fixing.
